COMFORTage Advances: 2nd General Assembly and Open Day Highlight Personalised Healthcare and Multimodal Data Integration

The COMFORTage project, funded by Horizon Europe, continues its mission to tackle dementia and frailty through innovative, data-driven solutions.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY

From 13 to 15 November 2024, the Consortium held its Second Open day in Bucharest, hosted by the Ana Aslan Foundation, along with an Open Day. Experts gathered to discuss normalising and integrating multimodal health data, a cornerstone of the future European Health Data Space (EHDS).

Key highlights included:

• Collaborative Progress: Presentations on pilot projects, technical integration, and educational tools like the Training Educational Toolkit (TEM).
• Workshops and Working Groups: Focused on co-creation, ethical standards, and dissemination KPIs.
• The strong collaboration across technical, clinical, and ethical dimensions highlights the project’s holistic approach to innovation. The focus on education, social learning, and co-creation ensures that solutions align with real-world needs.

SECOND OPEN DAY: Personalised Healthcare and Multimodal Data Integration

On other hand , we have celebrated our second Open Day entitiled Empowering dementia and frailty research through multimodal data normalisation and integration: contributing to the preparation of the implementation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS), hosted by ANA ASLAN Foundation in Bucharest on 15th on November.  This public-facing event brought together nearly 100 experts in health data, technology, and healthcare innovation, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.

1. Session Highlights

   • Key Presentations: Featured projects such as COMFORTage, Xt-EHR Joint Action,  The Role of the Ecosystem in Supporting Deep Tech Innovation and SEDIMARK.
   • Romanian Healthcare Ecosystem: Initiatives like RoHealth, Health and Bieconomy Cluster, Vitality 65 Plus and SMART BEAR Project showcased the integration of innovative technologies for health literacy and independent living.

2. Dialog on Multimodal Data Integration

   • Explored solutions for seamless data sharing within the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
   • Moderated by Athos Anthoniades, the discussion delved into data interoperability and new integration standards like XShare HER Exchange Format.

3. Demo Sessions

   • NESTORE: A coaching system promoting healthy aging through tailored recommendations for physical, nutritional, and social well-being.
   • WearSkill: Showcased wearable technology designed for personalized interactions, supporting health monitoring and lifestyle improvements.

The success of both events clearly reflects the potential of COMFORTage to not only make a meaningful impact in dementia and frailty prevention but also seamlessly integrate into the broader European Health Data Space (EHDS) initiative.
