The Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens leads Pilot 2 of the COMFORTage project, an observational study focused on identifying patterns for the development of dementia through biomarker analysis. Ethical approval was obtained in October 2024. The study recruits approximately 50 participants per year, including cognitively normal individuals, those with subjective cognitive decline, and people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Its primary aim is the prevention of cognitive decline and dementia by identifying biological and lifestyle markers that correlate with disease progression. Cognitive scores are used as key endpoints, with recruitment planned for February to March 2025.
