“Hellenic Development City Network” with acronym “D.E.P.AN. – City Network”, is a non-profit organisation governed by public law, established in 2015 on the initiative of twenty-one local government organisations from Greece which financed the network in the first year of its operation. Today, it is considered the biggest Hellenic development organisation in Greece as it counts more than 120 members, coming from all regions of Greece.
“D.E.P.AN.”, includes several local actors who are joining forces to develop and manage public services and infrastructures more effectively and respond in the best possible way to the needs of citizens by providing better quality services and enhancing local development.
“D.E.P.AN.” applies the Quad Helix Model to create a network that facilitates cooperation and has complementary action with local authorities, government, academic institutions, private sector and civil society to local/regional/national level. For that reason, “D.E.P.AN.”, considers international cooperation a very important issue for the development of its members and aims to mobilize stakeholders towards the establishment of an International Cooperation Platform according to the Quadruple Helix Model.
“D.E.P.AN.” uses: the resources and experiences of its members, and the available funding instruments at National, EU and International level towards the development of partnerships at Local, National, EU and International level. D.E.P.AN. has a vast experience in supporting Greek public Authorities at local regional/national level for the implementation of activities that are beneficial for the common good.
“D.E.P.AN.” is governed by the General Assembly (GA) and the Management Board (MB) which consists of 9 Greek Mayors. Its organisational structure includes the following: Directorate General, Directorate of Programming & Development, Directorate of Life – Long Learning & International Programmes, Directorate of ICT, Directorate of Green and Environmental Projects, Directorate of Energy Projects and other Technical Services, Directorate of Financial Services, Directorate of HR, Directorate of Administration, Consulting Department, Communication & PR Department, Quality Department, Legal Department and Procurement Department. Finally, “D.E.P.AN.” operates under the following Certificates of Quality (ISO 9001:2015, ELOT 1429:2008), for planning and implementing National, co-funded and European Projects, for their ICT and Data Protection Services, and their operations.
