COMFORTage co-creation workshop at the CING

On Monday 25th of November, medical students with interest in Neurology and researchers working in the field of bioinformatics, biostatistics and data analysis gathered at CING’s Amphitheatre to listen about COMFORTage.

Following the opening remarks from Professor George Spyrou, Head of Bioinformatics and Dr Andreas Koupparis Senior Neurologist and Head of Neurophysiology, the post-doctoral fellows Dr Eleni Loizidou and Dr Soteroulla Ellina went into more details on the ambitions of the Consortium and the activities that the partners will pursue to achieve them.

AI-based Healthcare Platform

The team described the AI-based healthcare platform and introduced terms like Patient Digital Twin and Blueprint persona to the participants.

The facilitators informed participants about their key role in shaping the blueprint persona based on their needs as users. They then divided the group into two: one with medical students and one with researchers.

With the guidance of Dr Eleni Loizidou, Dr Margarita Zachariou, Dr Ioanna Kousiappa, Dr Christiana Christodoulou, and Dr Soteroulla Ellina each group has created its blueprint persona.

After the persona creation, the two groups came together to discuss the use of AI in healthcare, sharing both the benefits and concerns.

The co-creation workshops highlight the person-centric approach that COMFORTage leads. Listening to the needs of end users and integrating their feedback is key to developing valuable tools and fostering a community around COMFORTage.

AI in Healthcare: Balancing Innovation and Ethics

Both researchers and medical students believe in the capability and potential of AI in healthcare. However, they also find it necessary to establish rules for its use to protect all users, including patients and their personal data. Moreover, these regulations will ensure that the technology is applied responsibly and ethically.
